So lately I've been reading alot of articles and internet posts about Hurricane Katrina. It's amazing to me the ignorance that people openly display. Someone should tell them how stupid they sound.
There are people sitting on their roofs waiting to be rescued. Children dieing of starvation, bodies floating down the street, hundreds and hundreds of missing people, and somehow, people like Repent America, can run around preaching victory against homosexuality and abortion? Some liberal dumbass can run around saying the blue states should let the red one suffer?
A tragedy that should have pulled America together has only further divided us on basis of religion, race, sexual orentation and politics.
Everyones running around trying to find someone to blame, and nobody is worring about what really matters, being the people affected, the people who need help getting out of the water that's burning their skin, staying alive long enough to make sure their kids get rescued. The elderly people trapped in a nursing home becasue there wern't enough busses to transfer them.
IT WAS A FUCKING HURRICANE!!! Not god's approval for hate and segragation.
Now everyone wants to run around and play the race card. Lets turn our attention towards the "Two photo Controversey" shall we?
I can't believe this is even an issue. given the circumstances, even the fucking president would have been looting. Jesus himself would be in isle 3 handing out loaves of bread to people who needed it. Now comsidering that New Orleans is 67.3 percent black, who the hell would you expect to see in pictures looting? Eskimos?
As for the fact that the black man was looting, but the white couple "found" food, I can't say that it was meant in a racist way, and I can't say that wasn't, but even if it was, it was the views of ONE fucking man, not a reflection of the views of America, and if you think it was, your a dumbass.
But I guess if you can call this gods victory against homosexuality and abortion, the KKK can call this gods victory against black people.
I love how every single person has found away to manuipulate this tragedy into justification for their ignorance and hate. It's sad really.
actually James I didn't vote for him, and was adamant that another 4 years with Bush would cause a downward spiral of problems.
When you vote republican you vote against your own best interests.
[people like Repent America, can run around preaching victory against homosexuality and abortion?]
Those people are idiots. The religious feel that they are war against the secularists in this nation, and are trying their damndest to make sure they turn our nation into a theocracy.
But god forbid, Iraq from a Theocracy with the Islam religion.
*ROLL*
You know it's funny. Pakistani's are still suffering from that ASIA quake 2 months ago. Yet I don't see anybody mourning them or sticking up for them. It's good how they got forces coming to their rescue but they're still suffering. A quake is a lot worse than a hurricane.
It's good how they're rebuilding after Katrina now. It'll be good to see it lifted up again. They might make something to go with the town now. The History of the Hurricane.
maybe the moving on was a bit harsh.
okay i'm sorry there. I didn't realise it was still going on today.
But I still stick by the blaming. All the stories I heard whilst in britain was one after another of blaming. Bush is Blamed. US troops are blamed. Britons blames hurricane for ruining their vacation. Mother blames American phone company for not finding her son. People complain about Stadium being dangerous, People blame governemt and even sue governemt for not having a better warning system. It's an act of God. Acts of God can not be predicted no matter how good your system is. Tsunami 2004 was a perfect example.
I said we shouldn't complain. And i'm shocked you didn't get that. It's your choice in the end how you guys run the country and do. I don't want to complain.
I loved America, and when I visited it this year, I enjoyed it, and I would love to live in California. I loved how the hospitality was, it was very much appreciative. I got nothing against your country except for Bush. That's it.
You jumped to a conclusion with me also. You called me a prick. over one small post that was hardly a good one for that looking at it now. I guess I should explain my posts more thoroughly.
Don't listen to james, he apparently doesn't know that you are not old enough to vote yet. he apparently doesn't realize that Katrina is still affecting alot of people out there and yes, katrina stories are rising up again, though with less frequency, now that the holidays are coming up and an entire metropolis of lesser fortunates will be spending their christmas still trying to get back on their feet. James is a prick and jumps to conclusions. He needs to piss off. You have a right to your opinions and just because it's not constantly aired on television doesn't mean it's no longer there.
gee is Katrina still going on. This stuff is like old now. THis is the latest i've heard. move on.
It was sad and depressing at the start, much like Tsunami, but now it's getting overly stupid with the blaming.
I see your point, but really we shouldn't complain, it's their choice in the end. And for those who think Bush has done a horrible job, remember you voted for him.
